I would be lying

I would be lying if I said,
The absence of your laugh,
Didn’t echo in the silence.
I would be lying if I said,
The lack of your body upon mine,
Didn’t create a chill in all of the wrong places.
I would be lying if I said,
Your eyes void of my eyes,
Didn’t dim the light in mine.
I would be lying if I said,
Not seeing your smile,
Didn’t form a frown upon my face.
I would be lying if I said,
That I didn’t miss you.
But I would also be lying if I said,
That I didn’t miss me.
The old me.
The laughing, bright soul that faded,
When your laugh,
Your touch,
Your eyes,
Your smile,
Invaded her being.
