Madame Villain

I’m banished to the cellar
of poisonous wine and ivy
hands bound in my role as
Madame Villain
The exposed brick chafes my shoulder
as I hiss a song of misery
but my cries are suffocated by the
guilty victims of my treachery
I welcome the unwelcomed confinement
and will sing until I’ve forgotten the words
Because my soul may hold a promise
of purity and beauty
but they should've listened
when I told them not to look
So let them be cast in stone
let them crumble to dust
I’m banished to the cellar
of poisonous wine and ivy
for crimes that will not garner
an apology
I refuse to admit sin
and will never be subdued
to downcast eyes
I am Madame Villain
If you dare
take a walk
into my glare
