Dear Past Love, Letter #2

Dear Past Love,

Your life did not change for the better when I entered it. I was just an accessory, something that made you sparkle, without having an effect on your core.

Your life did not change for the worse when I left it, my absence did not bring tears to your eyes or a burning in your throat.

I was just a fleeting moment in your life, but it was a good moment. One where we laughed. We laughed a lot. To the point of new smile lines at the corner of my mouth.

My presence and absence were not a factors in the greatness or downfalls in your life. But the fleeting moment in which our paths crossed,taught me that it's okay for life to feel easy, for things not to always feel important or complicated.

You were not my 'soulmate’, our love was never one of passion. But it taught me that love can simply be love. Something without the theatrics and frills, the ones I read in romance books. So thank you for teaching me.
